چکیده

patient developed occupational dermatitis from butylene glycol in a soap (9, 10). 2 large-scale group studies, including 364 and 272 patients, give frequencies of contact allergy to 1,3-butylene glycol of 0.4% and 1.1%, respectively, of patients tested (1, 2). Although 1,3-butylene glycol has been considered a safe cosmetic ingredient and a rare contact allergen, we suggest that allergy to it would be reported more frequently if it were tested regularly. 1,3-butylene glycol (5% aq.) is now being added to the Belgian cosmetics series to evaluate the incidence of positive tests and the incidence of possible cross-reactivity with propylene glycol, the latter having been present in the Belgian standard series since 1993. 5% aq. has been proposed as optimal for patch testing by Matsunaga et al. (1), though we did not observe irritant reactions to 10% aq. in 20 control subjects.

Contact allergy to textile dyes in southern Sweden.

Contact allergy to disperse dyes in textiles is documented in prevalence studies from southern Europe. To evaluate the prevalence of allergic patch test reactions to different textile dyes in southern Sweden, and to look at the sites of dermatitis in individuals hypersensitive to textile dyes, we retrospectively investigated 3325 consecutively patch-tested patients. They had all been patch test...

Patch testing with a textile dye mix--a multicentre study.

BACKGROUND Disperse dyes are well-known contact sensitizers. However, they are not included in the majority of commercially available baseline patch test series. OBJECTIVES To investigate the outcome of patch testing with a textile dye mix (TDM) consisting of eight disperse dyes at dermatology clinics in various countries. PATIENTS/MATERIALS/METHODS Two thousand nine hundred and seven conse...

Patch testing with a textile dye mix in two concentrations - a multicentre study by the Swedish contact dermatitis research group.

UNLABELLED Disperse dyes, which are used for colouring synthetic textile fibres, are well-known contact sensitisers. To investigate the outcome of patch-testing with a textile dye mix (TDM) at 7 dermatology clinics in Sweden, a TDM tested at 2 concentrations was included into the baseline series during one year. The mix consisted of Disperse (D) Blue 35, D Yellow 3, D Orange 1 and 3, D Red 1 an...

Removal of textile dye from aqueous solutions by nanofiltration process

The feasibility of employing nanofiltration (NF) in the decolorization of ionic (direct blue 86) and nonionic (disperse blue 56) dye aqueous solutions was investigated. The effects of feed concentration (60- 180 mg/l), pressure (0.5- 1.1 MPa) and pH (6- 10) were studied. Experiments were performed in a laboratory- scale set up by using a TFC commercial spiral wound polyamide nanofilter. The res...
